UNLOCKING PELVIC PLEXUS
Hello Readers! 👋🏻
Deep within the pelvis, a hidden world awaits. The Pelvic Plexus(the inferior hypogastric plexus), or Mooladhara Chakra in Sanskrit, is a sacred network of nerves, governed by the wise and gentle Shri Ganesha. This intricate web of energy weaves together the bladder, rectum, reproductive organs, and perineum, nurturing life and vitality.
Fundamental components and functions of Pelvic Plexus:
- Influence functions like blood vessel constriction, heart rate, and sweating in the pelvic region
- Digestion, urination, and sexual arousal
In 👦🏻: The plexus is more complex due to the presence of the prostate gland and seminal vesicles. It gives rise to the prostatic plexus, which innervates these organs.
In 👩🏻: The plexus is less complex and gives rise to the uterovaginal plexus, which innervates the uterus, vagina and ovaries.
The Pelvic Plexus has 4 subplexus(petals)
🌼The 1st subplexus(petal) goes in the downward direction and has three arrows. By the first one, it expresses the Harmony that we enjoy. Second, express a sense of Balance. By the third arrow, it expresses the sensitivity of the subject to Innocence. All these qualities are developed fully by our complete dedication, innocence and chastity to Shri Ganesha.
🌼1st Subplexus(petal); Inferior Hemorrhoidal Artery(it supplies blood to— Rectum)
The rectum is the final 6–8 inches of the large intestine that stores stool before its elimination from the body. It can be affected by various diseases.
#Most Common Rectal Diseases
👉🏼Hemorrhoids: These are swollen blood vessels in the lower rectum and anus, often causing discomfort and bleeding.
👉🏼Anal Fissures: These are small tears in the lining of the anus, typically caused by passing hard stools.
👉🏼Rectal Prolapse: This occurs when part of the rectum slides out of the anus.
👉🏼Rectal Cancer: This is a malignant growth in the rectum.
#Less Common Rectal Diseases
👉🏼Diverticular Disease: This involves small pouches (diverticula) forming in the wall of the rectum and colon.
👉🏼Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD): Conditions like ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease can affect the rectum.
👉🏼Abscesses and Fistulas: These are collections of pus and abnormal passages, respectively.
👉🏼Rectal Polyps: These are benign growths that can sometimes develop into cancer.
🌼The 2nd subplexus(petal), which is facing towards the left-hand side also has three patterns of waves. By the first wave, one achieves the complete Mastery Over Evil Enticement. The Temptations within us are Overcome by the second ripple. The third ripple, when developed, gives us the Power of Spontaneous Victory.
🌼2nd Subplexus(petal); Vesical — Urinary Bladder, Vascular Seminalis and Vas Deference
(i) Urinary Bladder
A sac that holds urine until it is time to urinate. The bladder’s wall relaxes and expands to store urine. When urinating the bladder wall contracts and flattens to empty urine through the urethra.
#Some of the most common bladder diseases:
👉🏼Cystitis: Inflammation of the bladder, often caused by bacteria.
👉🏼Pyelonephritis: A severe infection that spreads from the bladder to the kidney.
👉🏼Urinary incontinence: Inability to control the bladder, leading to involuntary leakage of urine.
👉🏼Overactive bladder: Frequent and urgent urination, even when the bladder is not full.
👉🏼Interstitial cystitis: A chronic condition causing bladder pain and frequent urination.
👉🏼Bladder stones: Hard deposits that form in the bladder.
👉🏼Bladder cancer: A malignant growth in the bladder.
👉🏼Neurogenic bladder: Bladder dysfunction caused by damage to the nerves that control it.
#Symptoms of Bladder Problems
- Frequent urination
- Urgent urination
- Painful urination
- Blood in the urine
- Pelvic pain
- Incontinence
(ii) Vascular Seminalis/ Seminal Vesicles
Seminal Vesicles are a pair of glands in the male reproductive system. The two seminal vesicles produce the fluids that will turn into semen. The vesicles may also be called seminal glands or vesicular glands. The vesicles have both glandular tissue and muscular tissue. The muscular tissue contracts to move seminal fluid and sperm into the urethra and out through the penis.
#Some common conditions and disorders that can affect the seminal vesicles include:
👉🏼Seminal vesicle stones
👉🏼Infections: These happen more often in places where tuberculosis and schistosomiasis are common. Infections of the seminal vesicles are called vesiculitis or spermatocystitis.
👉🏼Cysts: Cysts are fluid-filled sacs.
👉🏼Tumors: Some tumors on the vesicles have started in other places in the body, like the colon or the prostate.
👉🏼Congenital diseases (diseases you’re born with): These include seminal vesicle agenesis (which means that one or both vesicles are missing or smaller than normal).
#Signs and symptoms that may occur when something is wrong with seminal vesicles may include:
- Infertility
- Hematospermia (blood in the semen)
- Pain in the area and/or pain while ejaculating
- Difficulty in urination(peeing) or pain while peeing
- Lower semen volume
(iii) Vas Deference/Sperm Duct/Ductus Deferens
The Vas Deferens is a long, muscular tube that travels from the epididymis into the pelvic cavity, just behind the urinary bladder. The vas deferens transports mature sperm to the urethra in preparation for ejaculation.
#The vas deferens can be affected by several conditions, including:
👉🏼Congenital absence of the vas deferens: This condition occurs when the vas deferens don’t develop properly, resulting in infertility. It can be present on one side (unilateral) or both sides (bilateral). It can be related to cystic fibrosis, an inherited disease that damages the lungs and digestive system.
👉🏼Vasitis: Also known as deferentitis or funiculitis, this condition occurs when the vas deferens thickens due to inflammation and infection. It can happen after a vasectomy.
👉🏼Blockage: This can be caused by trauma to the pelvis, a severe infection, or other causes.
👉🏼Sexually transmitted diseases: These infections can affect the vas deferens.
👉🏼Duplication of the vas deferens: This is a rare congenital condition that’s usually discovered during surgery.
#Diseases of the vas deferens can cause a range of symptoms, including:
- Pain during or after sex or pain in the prostate
- Swelling in the testicular area
- Lumps in the testicular area
- Discharge from penis
- Blood in semen or urine
- Low sperm count or low volume of ejaculate
- Infertility
- The testicle area became more sensitive to pressure.
